Private sewers and pumping stations must have been connected to the public network prior to July 2011 to have been part of the October 2011 sewer transfer and October 2016 pumping station transfer.
Any sewers or pumping stations connected after July 2011 will remain private unless the developer has requested that STW adopt the asset under a S104 agreement or S102 application. As part of the original transfer, a secondary transfer was proposed by the government to cover sewers laid after July 2011, but this has yet to materialize.
