The government is to introduce VAT on the CON29 element of local authority searches during 2017. This will affect apply to all CON29R and CON29O questions. The LLC1 will remain exempt from VAT.
VAT has been applied from either 1st January, or by the beginning of April if councils are unable to meet the January deadline.
The majority of authorities within our region that have announced their new prices and implementation dates, and these can be found in the tables below. These will be regularly updated as authorities provide us with revised prices and dates:
In addition, two authorities are making price adjustments in January. Oadby and Wigston are reducing their fee from £94.00 to £90.00 from 1st January. We’ll also be ordering their searches directly from this date as well, meaning the admin fee will be removed. Malvern will be increasing their fee from £110 to £115. Both have deferred implementation of VAT until April.
Leicester will be charging £88.00 inc. VAT, but have yet to announce an implementation date.
