On stable ground
The Coal Authority and British Geological Survey (BGS) have recently launched a new report to tell homebuyers exactly what they're standing on...
Subsidence damage is a serious issue for homeowners in all areas of the country. In some cases it can be catastrophic, causing no end of misery for homeowners. To resolve such problems, a new Ground Stability Report has been developed. It includes all existing coal mining and brine subsidence information, as well as an expert interpretation by BGS on natural ground subsidence hazards.
The report covers geological and soil conditions, plus mining and mineral extraction information. Developed in consultation with key stakeholders and customer representatives, it provides extra reassurance for buyers who want to know everything about the land around their home. There's even a unique insurance of up to £50,000 covering any updates or changes to information in the future that result in a reduction in property value.
Pricing
The residential Ground Stability Report is available now from Severn Trent Searches, and costs just £29.00 including VAT. Searches can also be carried out at non-residential, commercial, and development sites of up to 25 hectares, costing £59.00 including VAT.
