Back in June 2004, a team of our colleagues from Severn Trent Searches and Severn Trent Retail and Utility Services Ltd took part in their second Nottinghamshire Cares project – a day of voluntary work aiming to make a difference in the local community.
This project was undertaken due to the growing relationship between Severn Trent Searches and Nottinghamshire Cares, and demonstrates our commitment to supporting community projects in our local area. It is also part of a greater relationship between Severn Trent and Business in the Community (BITC), under which the Nottinghamshire Cares initiative is delivered.
Gareth Billings, Owen Davies, Simon Widdowson, Sharon Blurton, Claire Smith, Kate Wilkinson, Emma Clarke and Marco Romero spent the day on a clean-up mission at a Nottingham hostel for homeless families waiting to be re-housed.
The day was a huge success and everyone worked very hard to make the hostel a better place to live. As a result of our endeavours, we were able to open a new community room and give the whole building some much-needed attention. It was also a great opportunity for the team to roll their sleeves up and pick up some valuable new skills!
Severn Trent as a company has declared its aim to give every employee the chance to go out and make a contribution, to similar projects across our region. So please keep checking our News section for our upcoming charity events. For information on how your business could participate, visit the BITC website.
