Severn Trent Searches announce the winner of their Subsidence Search competition, a ground-breaking new search which gives an indication of subsidence risk for any given residential property.
The winner of the subsidence search competition is Rachel Callow, a specialist in residential conveyancing for Pearson Rowe in Birmingham. Rachel correctly selected from a choice of three answers, that the compression of peat can be a cause of subsidence.
Owen Davies, Business Development Manager met Rachel at the city centre office in Birmingham to present her with the luxury hamper. Rachel was delighted and said; “Thank you so much, this is a really nice surprise.” After feeling the weight of the hamper, Rachel stated “I think I’ll need a lift home tonight!”

Subsidence is one of the largest ground stability risks in the UK, and has always been a significant issue for home owners, as well as insurance companies. In fact, the UK is the only country in the world which insures for subsidence and currently receives claims of some £175m per annum1 and against the background of one of the driest springs for over 100 years2, this report offers invaluable insight for prospective home owners and conveyancing professionals alike.
The Subsidence Search is available to buy now from Severn Trent Searches for just £15 plus VAT.
