Mark Jarvis, the General Manager, established Severn Trent Searches in November 1999 with six members of staff sharing half an office and producing simple sewerage reports compiled from Severn Trent Water records. When the company officially launched five months later on the 1st April 2000, the number of orders received each day greatly exceeded our estimate and the business was soon providing hundreds of searches each week.

Severn Trent Searches' initial objective after managing the number of search orders, was to introduce a more comprehensive report via a streamlined process. Having achieved that goal, every solicitor from the smallest independent to the largest chain, can now include a drainage and water search on every property within the Severn Trent region. Severn Trent Searches has been continually adding new products to the company's portfolio and now offer a comprehensive range of search reports, including environmental and flood searches, official local authority searches and utility reports including gas and telecoms.
