Thursday 1st October saw Severn Trent Searches hold a Commercial CPD conference at the Hilton Hotel in Leicester. Delegates from across the East Midlands attended the 3 hour CPD to hear about the issues within the commercial conveyancing search market.
Speakers on the day included:
Mark Jarvis, General Manager at Severn Trent Searches who spoke about the Commercial Drainage and Water search. This covered areas such as connection status, location of pipes and water quality surrounding a particular commercial site/unit.
Richard Fixter and Daniel Howard from Central Networks talked about the Electricity Network Distribution Search. This included the dangers of voltage lines and cables and how to identify any lines and cables within a search through the network plans.
Anthony Rollason of Landmark Information Group presented on Landmark Commercial Environmental reports, to give a better understanding on contaminated land within an site. Anthony also included information regarding flooding and the impact surface water flooding can have on a commercial property.
To conclude the day, Austin Baggett from National Energy Services spoke about Commercial EPCs. This allowed the delegates to gain a better understanding of when an EPC is needed, what information it tells you and possible ways to improve your carbon footprint by making small changes to the commercial property/site.
